TextHelp Read & Write v10 could transform the way you use a computer if you are dyslexic. Dyslexia is a very “broad brush” term that affects people in many different ways which is why Read & Write is designed to address a very wide range of issues.

Speeding up reading tasks

Read & Write converts text from your screen into speech that you can listen to through headphones or speakers. While it reads, it highlights the words to make it easy to keep up with the text. Listening to the text often improves comprehension so you absorb information without having to read it again and again.

Read & Write v10 is the latest version and has many improvements, including even more realistic voices and the option to speed up or slow down reading at any time.

Making spell checking simple

the Read & Write spell checker takes the guess work out of spell checking. It doesn’t simply provide a list of possible alternatives. Instead, you can see what the alternatives mean, and choose confidently instead of giving it your best guess.

Helping you deal with homophones

Read & Write can sift out homophones (words that sound the same but have different spellings and different meanings) from your document and helps you to decide if you have made the correct choice.

Supporting your writing tasks

Read & Write’s word prediction tool helps you through writing tasks by displaying suggestions for your next word based on context sensitive prediction methods. This feature learns your writing style so gets “tuned in” to your way of working. Suggestions are colour coded in terms of likelihood, and definitions are available to help you decide with confidence.

Supporting your studying

Read & Write highlighter tools make it possible to select sections of documents, headings, background information and lists of vocabulary. All of these highlights can be extracted from Word documents and web pages. You can use these to build your own custom study guides, outlines or complete assignments. You can use highlights from multiple documents and web pages to create one unified document, including a bibliography.

Simplifying calculations – the Read & Write calculator tool provides a talking calculator straight from the tool bar. Calculations are spoken naturally to improve comprehension, and an audit trail is displayed so you don’t lose track of your work.

Read & Write loads as a toolbar that can either float anywhere on your screen, or you can dock it to the top or the side. That makes it really easy to access from any application you happen to be using. There are several preset toolbar groups, organised to help you with different types of tasks, like reading, writing and researching. There’s also an “all features” toolbar if you are dipping in and out of different tasks.

If you don’t use some of the tool buttons, you can hide them to display just your favourites. There’s lots of other ways to customise Read & write, including:-

  1. choosing a reading voice
  2. setting a reading speed and pitch you find comfortable
  3. setting the size of the tool buttons
  4. deciding whether you want Read & Write to read everything on the screen (such as menu bars, etc) or just have it read when you want it to
  5. decide on the level of difficulty for dictionary definitions (you can have basic or advanced)
  6. choose additional vocabulary for your spell checker such as medical, scientific, towns and cities, etc

Learning to use Read & Write is made easier by the inclusion of video tours for all of the main topics, and you can run these from the tool bar.

Prices on our website are inclusive of postage & packaging but exclusive of VAT. Upon checkout, VAT will be added at the prevailing UK rate.

Delivery for in stock items is usually 1 business day for orders taken before 3 p.m. However, for items not in stock, we aim to dispatch all orders within 3-7 working days from payment but not later than 30 days.
Prices include delivery unless otherwise stated.

We currently only deliver to the United Kingdom (Including Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Channel Islands) unless special arrangements have been made. If you would like any orders delivered outside of the United Kingdom, we will contact you once you have placed your order, to let you have final shipping costs and to make special arrangements. If you would like to discuss this with us before you place your order then kindly contact us.

Once your order has been dispatched, we will contact you to confirm delivery and estimated time of arrival. Orders will be sent either by Royal Mail Special Delivery or via a designated courier. The agent will need a signature at your end. If no-one will be available during normal working hours at the delivery address, we ask that you provide an alternative address, perhaps your workplace. We will, wherever possible, advise you of any anticipated delay when you place your order, however, we cannot, accept liability for any loss or inconvenience that may result from any delay.

Delivery will be on a specified day between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. For deliveries outside these times, please contact us.

Cancellation and Returns Policy

You have the right to cancel a Contract if you feel that the product is not suitable and you may do so at any time up to 7 days after the day you receive the goods, without having to give any explanation. Goods are provided to you on approval and legal title to the goods will not pass to you until fourteen days after delivery.

To cancel the Contract, you must inform us in writing by sending an email to us immediately at info@bdf-solutions.co.uk, stating your order number and date of purchase. You must return the goods to us immediately in the same condition you received them at your own cost and risk and you are legally obliged to take proper care of the goods whilst they are in your possession. We will arrange to refund you the cost of the goods as quickly as possible but in any event within 30 days or receiving the goods from you.

Please note that any goods which have been personalised to your requirements cannot be cancelled. We will examine goods returned and provided they are in good and saleable condition, we will issue a refund as stated above.

We reserve the right to reject any goods which have been damaged whilst in your possession or, alternatively, to deduct a percentage of your refund to reflect the degree of damage. This is at our sole discretion. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund the cost of dispatch or returns.

This does not affect your statutory rights.
